I try to post any jobs I hear about here in the forum....you should browse through the recent threads. Depending on where you live there may be a recent opportunity here for you. It's also a good idea to join Puppetry associations or guilds in your area. You can meet and network with other puppeteers that way. A lot of puppetry jobs happen through "word of mouth" and often it's not what you know so much as who you know.
If you live on the east coast and you really are serious about this, it's probably a good idea to consider eventually moving to New York (which is the puppet capital of the east really). Just don't expect to get off the bus and find work - it usually takes (at least) a few years of learning and struggling to get to the point where you are a working puppeteer.
