Hi I'm New to the San Fran, Cali area & didn't know if anyone knew of a great class or organization to become a part of. I have contacted the Puppet guild of San Fran & thinking of joining them. I am semi-new to the field & would like to improve my skills & get to know others in the field. I would like to become a puppet fabricator. Please give me some insight is anyone has any.

Michael Earl is teaching some TV puppetry workshops in LA. Check out his site at http://puppetschool.com for more info.

You might also want to join the LA Guild, since it's not too far away and many of the best West Coast puppeteers are associated with it. I know a few of the puppeteers involved professionally and they are very friendly, helpful people so it's probably a good organization for networking.
