When backstage(of the puppet stage), what is the one way to store your puppets while performing?

depends on how quickly you need them during the show, some compnays hanf them on hooks, stitching a small loop at the bottom the of the puppet so they can stick thiet hand in a hurry

others put racks with poles on them and put the puppets on thier up right , its all a matter of preference

I like using PVC pipe - the wonder-material. You can buil an inexpensive rack that can be broken down. Also you can configure it for your area and the number of puppets you are using. I prefer the upright storage method as your puppets are less likely to be damaged.

I needed mine really quickly, so, I just had to set them on the floor.

I have hooks and loops for my glove puppets, and have built a shelf with square holes in for in front so I just slot my rod puppets in there (upright). It works really well, I used to dump all mu puppets on the floor, but they used to get in a muddle and also dirty if we were outside.

And changing puppets one handed isn't fun if they're on the floor!
