Problem with PM Pop-ups

I have my account set to where I receive a pop-up whenever I receive a new PM, HOWEVER for the past few months or so I'll get the pop-up for like every other new PM or so, and a lot of the times don't get a pop-up at all.

Has there been a glitch in the PM pop-ups or something?

Hmmm, I think I know what you might be talking about Snowths. The way it works now, at least from my own experiences, versus how it used to work before...

Hi Snowths... I might be able to explain a bit...

Before, if you had your account settings to make a pop-up window appear everytime you received a new PM, you would get the pop-up alerting you of said new message.
(In fact, this still is the case now).
Then, if you clicked on the "OK" button to open the pop-up window, you had to click "OK" to confirm the PM's receipt and then you'd be taken to the message itself.

However, this has changed in new updated versionsof the forum. If you have more than one new PM awaiting, or you click on the "OK" button to receive the message, you'll get the pop-up to go to your PM inbox instead of going to the message itself.
Maybe this is what you're experiencing. So here's what I do in hopes it'll work for you too.
When you get the pop-up window alerting you of a new message, click the "OK" button to read the message. This'll bring up a second pop-up message asking you to confirm the receipt. Just press Escape and you'll be taken to your inbox where you can view the messages accumulated there.

LMK if this works and have a good day.

I think there is a problem actually, it's not popping up to alert me of new private messages at all, regardless of how many i have, and i have the notfications and stuff turned on.

That's interesting. I haven't had a problem with it at all...

Luke... If you're still having problems, check your settings. If that doesn't work, then I suggest you contact Phil about it through the forum's mailer so you get a response at your online address, where you know you'll have and be able to find Phil's response should he have any help for you.

Thanks Count. I think Phil will probably see that lots of people have got the same thing and probably want to reply to all. I noticed it a little while back but since i can see there is an unread message at the top it didn't seem a big deal to mention. Before posting before i did check settings (unchecked, and checked again), and tested it again. I'll try logging in/out and clearing cookies and post back if it solves things.

Edit - I tried that and it still doesn't work. Can anyone else confirm that when they are sent a private message a grey popup box still appears and tells them they have a new PM?

Oh, I just now noticed something about those PM pop-ups that I forgot to mention...

Most of the times when I receive a PM that doesn't give me a pop-up alert is when it's a mass PM (a PM sent to more than one person)... you don't suppose that might have anything to do with it, do you?
