You can undo Contact cement with a hair dryer. Once heated, the seam just melts apart.

Out of curiosity, how do you guys store your foam? Do you roll it up and stash it in a corner? Do you fold it?

Roll it up and put it in a plastic bag. If you get a gold or a weird curl, you can fix it by hitting it with the steam from an iron. It'll relax it enough to uncurl it and will be as good as new once it dries. Be careful not to hit your hands with the steam, though -- it'll burn you!
