Step with me into the mist that divides the moon from the tide
The stars shine brightly down upon the sea in the deep of night
The ferryman lifts his hand and beckons us to join his humble abode
Weary travelers are we, now he helps to lighten our load

Let us float upon the waters lit by nothing but the light of heaven above
In the distance one can hear the cry of a mourning dove
All her children to death were brought, ‘twas a fate they hadn’t sought
Now forever punished for the evil that men do hath wrought

Across the waters you may see a picture of the form divine
The Goddess of The Peace lifts her head and sends now to us a sign
Tears glisten upon her cheeks, her immortal lover hath thus gone
Yet the lyre remains and thus she sings to us her song

Ahead in the distance we can see the raven’s head
Entreating us to enter not, telling us to “BEWARE!”
Yet the foolishness in our hearts and minds leads us to the grind
And so the raven takes flight, and sails into eternal night
And we mortal fools are cursed as we enter the demon’s lair

A tunnel looms ahead, all our senses lie dead
The never ending form divine, an unholy sacred immortal shrine
The gates have risen, the harvest brought forth nothing at all this year
But still we Light the burning match and so we raise up again the fear

But what you see isn’t real, those who know cannot tell
If you should walk beyond the shore, you would become unwell
For what mankind wishes to know they never will possess
And so we Light the Wicker Man, and burn up Nature’s dress

Look into my eyes again, they are darkened and silent
1,000 eyes of distraught demise would not from a quest be bent
And yet while the fumes of a diesel pollute the country air
Old Thunder remains still unmoved, he too heeds not “BEWARE!”

But now my dear, you must make a choice
A crossroad of love and despair
You may keep with me all night
Or vanish into the air
You may leave and have a life
Shipwrecked upon the sand
Or take my hand and hold it tight
And I will lead you to the promised land

So as we settle underneath the shade of the old oak tree
One more tale has come to close, this for you and me
So leave us here and turn away, our lives weren’t meant to end
But the mortal world behind us now, will find the wedding again...

If you had told me a while back that I’d be writing peotry for my own self enjoyment, i wouldn’t have believed you. But here we are.

Thoughts?

The Harvest Lied

Take not apart the summer day
With which the dove and sparrow
Help to drive the mist away
And aim Poseidon’s arrow

Upon a field of mental flight
My soul shall bear no more to shine
The darkness creeping in the night
Has aged again like elder’s wine

Upon the spotted darkened brow
My mind Forever wanders
And now I find time to ask how
This puddle forever launders

Awaken! O great spirit deep!
Thine home of wood and earthy sin
Will tumble anew with greatest reap
And so let the harvest begin.

“Vicissitudes”

Sequins and a stab of lust on a velvet rug
Mannequins of golden rust fill in what we dug
Solar empires, fading tides, lakes swim back to shore
Time expires, Kronos abides to trip us up once more

Satin emeralds of red and blue wring my rugged neck
Holy cards long overdue are flipped out from the deck
Starry eyes bead out of the night catching my wandering glare
Frozen skies, and my sight was simply never there

Hallowed beauties of ancient days turn to dirt and stone
Sacred duties of the strays cut them to the bone
Honor and glory, in flows the pain, sealing up your stitch
Here’s your story, know thy name, you’ll lie there in the ditch

Sacks of barley, rotting dry, break away my mind
Known you hardly, take my eye, and leave it all behind
What you were and what you’ll be I’m never one to know
The pot is stirred, I’m tossed in the sea, to go where it will flow
