Poco Loco

Anyone recall this muppet?

He was a parrot owned by Luis and he was always causing some sort of trouble.

Like Simon Soundman, he imitated sounds and even people.




Just before Luis went to Hooper's for lunch he tells us what he planed to have for lunch.

Poco went to Hooper's Store immiating Luis repeating what Luis says while David was working and not seeing who was really there.


Poco eats the lunch than Luis comes it asking for the same thing, once again David with his back turned hears what Luis wants and is confused.


I can't remember all that happened but eventually both Luis and David find out what Poco did.

Luis scolds him, says something in spanish and poco imitates him, David says You owe
me 2 lunches!

Poco says 2 lunches!

I remember Poco...he was funny! He still pops up as an anything animal muppet, he was in "We Are All Earthlings".

Another I recall is where he wants a cracker. Maria is tending the fix-it shop and Poco keeps bugging her to go to Hooper's to get him some.


Then while Maria is out of sight, Poco phones Hooper's store sounding like Maria and want David to deliver him a box of crackers.

David was probably and probably wish Maria would of and get them herself but Poco once again imitaing her voice keep bugging David to bring him crackers till finally has had enough of the harrament and does.

Maria is there and of course he's angry with her for all this and she denies she called asking for crakers but with PL standing there they realized what had happened.

At the end of the show David decided to make him dry some dishes he had washed.

Poco either purposly or accidently knock some of them over breaking them and David starts crying.

Probaby worried what Mr. Hooper would think.

I remember Poco Loco and all those episodes he was in. The first episodes, Poco was voiced by Jerry Nelson and all he did was repeat everything Big Bird would say until it drove him crazy.

During the early 80's episodes, Poco was voiced by Michael Earl Davis and he started speaking for himself as well as playing tricks on people like imitating their voices.

But around the 90's, Poco was made into a new character called H. Ross Parrot where he talked politics about the alphabet and was once again voiced by Jerry Nelson.

The last I recall was Luis installed one of those bells that hangs from the door and rings when a customer walks in.

Poco decides to trick Luis by making the sound of the bell causing him to think someone just walked in.


After the 3rd time Luis see it was Poco.

Well then Big Bird walks in and Luis assuming it was you know who says '' Yes I Know That You You Silly Bird etc."

BB is of course upset yelling at Luis, Luis come out and explains to BB about the situation.


That's about all I can remember.

Poco Loco can actually be seen on Old School Vol. 2 in the final scene for the Season 7 Credit Crawl.
