The problem I found with triangles is that if you don't have them cut absolutely perfect, (to a tee) you have holes or cracks between the foam in places compromising its integrity. Should you get them perfect and lined up perfect, I'd definately say it would be strong. What kind of glue do you use for the foam construction of the head? I use a shoe glue called Barge for the form of the head, or sometimes contact cement. I don't mean to be getting on anyones nerves about this but I'm developing a few new ideas and branching into the higher end puppets, something I've not braved yet.
