I have noticed that whenever there is a large Muppet crowd scene featuring as many muppets as possible, and the Sesame Street Muppets are included, that the Sesame Street Muppets, with the obvious exception of Kermit, usually get grouped together in a small section of the crowd.
Think about it. In The Muppet Movie, most of the Sesame Street characters are on the top left of the crowd. Big Bird is with the full-body characters, but he is also as close to the Sesame Street characters as possible.
In The Muppets Take Manhattan, the Sesame Street cast is on the left aisle, all in the top rows. There are many rows of non-SS muppets on that side, too, but none of thsoe muppets sit with the Sesame Street muppets.
In The Muppets: A Celebration of Thirty Years, there is a section of tables where Sesame Street characters sit at. Big Bird, Donnie Dodo, Marie Dodo, and Miss Finch sit near them but also closer to the full-body muppets, and Ernie, Bert, and Oscar do sit at a table where some of the main Muppets (Fozzie, Miss Piggy, Rowlf) sit at, instead of with the Sesame Street cast. There are aslo times in the special where some characters move to other areas, sucha s the Two-Headed Monster and some other background monsters sitting with the monsters during Sweetums' introduction to the monster clips.
However, in A Muppet Family Christmas, in various crowd sceens the Muppets and Sesame Street Muppets are treated equally, with no small sections for the Sesame Street muppets to sit.
