Nicky puppet replicas

I need some help because I can't find a great fur for my Nicky replicas. It's suppose to be dark brown and 3" long.

And what should I take for the eyes?

Mendels sells 3" nap fur. The eyes look like white craft foam sheets cut into ovals, but it could be thicker than that and has a nice smooth edge, so it could be white Sculpy or a similar plastic material made into discs to make the whites, with a glass eye attached to it. Check here for the eyes.

Just remember the guidelines about reproducing these copyrighted Rick Lyon designs for the show you're doing. Perhaps it's better if you don't get the exact eyes and fur, etc.

Are you talking about the shaggy fur? Because I bought 2 yards for Trekkie and it was only 2". It's ok for Trekkie but not long enough for nicky . Do you really think eyes can be made of foam? I was thinking about making them with wood.

I bought some longish fur off ebay a few years ago, long enough for Nicky I thought. Try eBay. If not, pay up the big bucks for some from a specialist.

I got some great hair for the Bono puppet at the Toy store, they had hair extensions for the "Bratz" toy line, and it worked wonderfully. Beyond that, I've seen some good looking extensions in those stores that sell cheap costume jewelry for the tween-set in the malls.

Ok... I wrote to Rick Lyon about his nicky and Rod hair and he told me it IS only 2" long.
I received form mendels some samples, good samples, but not what i'm looking for. The best was the punky fur but it's only 1" and it's black instead of dark brown. So I'm gonna look somewhere else. I was thinking about clothdollsupply craft fur. Does anybody already bought from this site?

I'm also thinking about re-cover nicky. Remake the fleece job because I messed some things and it's getting old and crappy (I didn't took really good care of my puppets before...) Do you think I should take that risk? Anyway I have to check if still have enough fleece for that.

Ok so, I realised that I don't need really long fur. I just have to create the illusion that it's long. I don't really know how to explain it... So I'm gonna try the dark brown fur from clothdollsupply. We'll see...
