Does anyone have any pictures of the activity books fromthe My Sesame Street Video videos be ause I'm interested in whar they look like?
Can you please, upload the rest? I would love to see more of those My Sesame Street Home Video activity book photos! In fact, I have TWO copies of the Learning to Add and Subtract activity book - one from the original 1987 print, and one from the 1990s reissue print (which I own). (That's right - apparently, it looks like the 1990s reissue prints came with activity books. My copy of the Ernie and Bert activity book comes from the 1990s print, which I have.)
I got Play-Along Games and Songs in 1994, and that had the activity book. Around the same time one of my cousins got Big Bird's Favorite Party Games and that copy had the book as well. One of my local libraries has Learning About Letters with the activity book in the packaging, and it's obviously a 1990s reissue. In fact, I have TWO copies of the Learning to Add and Subtract activity book - one from the original 1987 print, and one from the 1990s reissue print (which I own). Do you still have the book for Play-Along Games and Songs, and if so, can you maybe scan the images? If you can't scan the images, can you at least tell me what some of the activities are and what the illustrations associated with them are? I already know that Joe Mathieu did the illustrations.I got Play-Along Games and Songs in 1994, and that had the activity book. I remember after getting Play-Along Games and Songs I got some more of those releases, which didn't have the activity books, so I'm guessing they were discontinued around 1994. I thought it was interesting how the back packaging on some videos looked different from others (as the activity books were on the back of the unopened videos). Thinking that only the activity books had the back covers presented differently AND had the special covers with Big Bird holding the photos, I was confused that some library copies had Big Bird holding the cover image. I later learned that many of the videos actually had that in the original releases.
I was a little confused when I saw the inside of the Play-Along Games and Songs activity book list only some of the video, while the back of the packaging (and even the back of the activity books) listed all of the videos (except for A New Baby in My House and The Best of Elmo... In fact it seems the back of those covers also only list the first 14 videos. And then I was at somebody's house, saw that they had an early (probably the original) copy of Play-Along Games and Songs, with different-colored border than I was used to, and with the back cover only listing the first six videos. Around that time I knew that the early ones came out between 1986 and 1988 but wondered how all of the videos could have been listed on all of them.
Also, all of the videos have numbers in the "proof of purchase" box on the side (the Muppet Wiki page for My Sesame Street Home Video has a list of what number went with each one) but I've occasionally seen copies of some that don't have the proof of purchase box on the side.
Not sure if I'll be able to scan it or if I even still have it. Can't remember much about the book... I recall it having something with Forgetful Jones, remember Little Bird appearing somewhere (despite not being in the video, but then again, the Big Bird's Favorite Party Games book has Prairie Dawn and Betty Lou who don't appear in that video), can't remember if Elmo or Guy Smiley appear, and pretty sure Lefty doesn't appear. I'm thinking it might have some game involving drawing a line.Do you still have the book for Play-Along Games and Songs, and if so, can you maybe scan the images?
