Dear MC friends,
I would like to apologize for my rather sporadic visits to the Message Board lately.
The last month has been very hard on all of my family. Over the past few months, my mother has been battling colon cancer. It kind of started this summer, increased slightly over the Christmas holidays and began to increase at an alarming rate beginning mid-March. She had to go in for surgeries and chemo and many tests...but it was too much for her.
On April 4, she passed away. She was 55.
I realize the skepticism of the truth about people passing away on this board (remember bobhopesite?) But I can sadly assure you that this is indeed true. If Muppet Central needs further proof, I can email Phil the link to her online obituary.
Mom wasn't a member of the board, but she loved the Muppet Central Cards I sent her. The last one I sent her was the one with Pa and Ma Gorg and Wembley (for Valentine's Day). Here's a quote from her email to me after she recieved it:
"I have listened to my card 6 times so far today, love the Fraggle music and I love the fact that you sent it!!"
Even after the card expired, she kept the link anyway because she liked the animated Crazy Harry.
My mom also liked Red Fraggle and Rizzo the Rat. One scene that really tickled her was in MTI where you only see Rizzo's hand pop up out of a roast chicken and he says "Yo!" between bites.
Just thought I'd let you guys know why I've been MIA for a while. Previously, I was planning to copy some clips off for Phil, but unfortunately...this came up.
We really thought she'd make it...we really did.
