For the BSG puppets I'm doing, I finally got myself an electric carving knife and a hunk of foam, and took my first stab at building a puppet torso.

There are lots of ways I'm going to improve on the result for next time, but for a first attempt (in any real way), I think it turned out nicely, especially considering I only used the carving knife. I didn't get into the detail work on this prototype because I'd made a couple gaffs which rendered the body kind of unusable for its original function, though.

This is meant to be a fairly life-like looking female torso, so I suppose I ought to make a sort of nudity warning, even though the nudity is essentially of the artistic variety.

Holy CRAP, this was a fun thing to do.

What do you think?
