Hi all,

I received the entire series on video from a great pal here on the boards and I really like the show. I hadn't seen but about 3 episodes ever in my life.

I have to say that the Paula Abdul number with Clifford and all the other Muppets involved has to be one of my favorite all-time Muppet production-numbers! The choreography of this number was perfect! VERY hard to do with puppets, and they pulled it off--WAY OFF! Great stuff there.

I'm confused about the title, but is this correct?
"Deep Dish Nine, The Next Generation of Pigs In Space"
What is Miss Piggy's title now? Who is the French Pig and the Brain-headed guy? Were there any other pigs--er, in space by name on this show?

I think that's all for now.

Thanks!

Hey Kev, got some answers for you. First off, I agree the title's rather confusing. It was supposed to be a parody of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but they combined it with a half-spoof attempt of Deep Space 9 as well. The name of the captain was Captain Pighead (pronounced peezhay) and the brainy guy was named Crainiac. They were supposed to be spoofs of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Data I guess. I think that Piggy's title was nothing more than a glorified version of Lieutant Uhura combined with whatever station personel member was manning that similar station in TNG.
Hope this helps and have a good evening.

BTW: Kev, forgot to tell you that you can find these and a whole myriad of MT or Muppets Tonight characters in my Muppet Listings 8.0 thread posted fright here on MC. And if you spot something that's incorrect, please point it out to me and why and how it should be corrected along with any other additions from MT that I might've missed.

OH yeah, and we miss you over at the Muppet College dorms.
Have a good evening.

Thanks, Count!

So, did she become Lieutenant Piggy then? She was First Mate Piggy in the old daze.

Paula Abdul is my most favorite performer, woman, person ever! And I have never seen that episode. :frown: The choreography was brilliant most likely cause Paula choreographed it..........

I thought Piggy became a captain. I think she was a captain in the one segment I saw.

I hope that PIS is brought back for the new show with the original 3 crew members. They could update the outfits though. I saw a picture of Link that was totally different from the PIS outfit worn on the show.

I agree. I mean, I can see a place for the new characters from MT, but it's just not PIS without Link and Strangepork. Steve does an impressive Link Hogthrob voice, and of course we still have Jerry and...whoever does Piggy now...so it could definitely work out!

On to other pressing questions

Carl the Big Mean...Big Mean Carl...What's his real name? They called him Carl the Big Mean Bunny with ears on his head, but I also saw him perform withOUT the ears on his head. He ate something and that was his act.

MT is such a CHEESEY show, too. It seems that on every episode I've seen so far there's been something to do with Cheeses.

Gonzo is VERY TMS Gonzo in this series, too. Moreso than he was on JHH.

Sorry to bore you all with this, it's my first time to actually see episodes of the show.

Nah, that's all fright Big Kev. After all, asking questions is a good way to find things out. Wow! Never thought I'd have a chance to use that dated line from SS!
Anyway, you'll find Carl in my Muppet Listings 8.0 thread with his proper MT designation. However, you'll find him under the B entries as Big Mean Carl; this was the name I found for the character when searching for Muppets Tonight on www.imdb.com and it sounded much better than either just Carl or Carl the Big Mean Bunny.
Got any more questions I can help you out with from MT, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer if I know the answer to your particular question. Hope this helps and have a good day.
