Though I'm not completely done with the story yet, I decided to let everyone read the entire story, from start to finish. I believe I've already explained the premise of the story; but, just in case....this is a crossover between Muppet Treasure Island and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, taking place right after the events of MTI.

So...here's "Muppets of the Caribbean".

Chapter One (Part One):

In the previous swashbuckling adventure for heroes Jim Hawkins, Gonzo the Great, and Rizzo the Rat, the three were involved in one of the greatest treasure-hunting adventures in all time, meeting vicious pirates that were led by Long John Silver and following the bold leadership of their fair Captain Abraham Smollett, whom (during the adventure) was reunited with his long lost love, Benjamina Gunn. After thwarting the evil plans of Silver and his pirates, the crew set sail back to their homeland to see that Silver and the pirates be hung for their crimes. Unfortunately, Silver had escaped from the Hispaniola (a trustworthy vessel) and ended up being trapped on a deserted island; however, soon after his pirates were hung, word got out that Silver had found a way off the island…how he got off? No one knows. And what was an even bigger mystery was how the word got out!

The brave crew of the Hispaniola had kept up to their word and gone out to discover new lands and undergo new adventures, going wherever the wind took them. Hawkins, Gonzo, Rizzo, Smollett, Benjamina, and every other crew member from their previous adventures had joined in on the adventure, as the wind seemed to have taken them to the Caribbean. None of the crew members had taken their new destination with much glee, when they noticed three pirate skeletons hanging with a sign (“Pirates ye be warned”).

“Why can’t we ever go to someplace that’s not scary…like Disneyland?” Rizzo uttered, as Jim Hawkins looked closely at the hanging skeletons.

“Tradition must spread very quickly.” He commented. “Wherever we go, some pirates are always being hung.”

“I wonder what these guys did to get hung though.” Gonzo said, just as Mr. Samuel Arrow spotted a port straight ahead of them.

“Captain Smollett, we are approaching the nearest port of the Caribbean region.” He informed.

“Good.” Smollett said. “Start lowering the anchor and…” Smollett and the crew all halted for a moment to take notice of a small boat near the massive Hispaniola, with a man standing on the mast; they noticed how his boat was filling up with water by the second. “Uh…ahoy there!” The man turned his head and directed his attention toward Smollett and the crew, giving them a friendly salute.

“Ahoy, mate!” The man remarked. “You heading for Port Royal yourself?”

“Yes, but it seems that you won’t be docking anything by the time you get there.” Smollett indicated, and the man realized how much water was filling up his boat. Alarmed, he jumped down the bail it out.

“This guy hasn’t got a clue.” Benjamina murmured.

“We should assist this stranger, don’t you think, Mr. Arrow?” Smollett asked, and Arrow looked at the man and then back at Smollett, who knew what Arrow’s answer was before it was even spoken. “I suppose he’ll be alright. The dock isn’t that far.” Arrow nodded in agreement, while Smollett gave the commands to his crew.

The suffering stranger that the Hispaniola crew encountered was an English pirate named Captain Jack Sparrow; he was the commander of the legendary ship called the Black Pearl. About ten years ago, while searching for a legendary cache of Aztec gold, his crew mutinied and marooned him on an island with a pistol containing a single shot (allowing the deserted an opportunity to kill himself rather than die slowly from starvation). Sparrow escaped, however, and went looking for revenge against the leader of his mutiny: his former first mate, Barbossa. Sparrow kept the pistol and shot for the purpose of killing Barbossa.

Once Sparrow and the crew of the Hispaniola reached the port, Jack’s boat was sinking lower and lower, until he was at the dock and was able to simply walk off the boat’s mast. While Smollett and his crew were coming off their ship, the harbormaster approached Captain Smollett and asked for a shilling to tie up the Hispaniola at the dock. Mr. Arrow happily gave the harbormaster a shilling, allowing Smollett and a few members of his crew to roam throughout Port Royal.

“Oh, Smollett.” Benjamina said, romantically. “This is such a wonderful part of the Caribbean. Don’t you think we should…find someplace to spend a moment…alone?” What Benjamina didn’t realize was that Smollett really wanted to meet the governor of Port Royal to get his assistance in hunting down Long John Silver. But the frog knew that there was no harm in finding a place for him and his love to spend a romantic evening together.

“Uh…sure, Benjamina.” Smollett agreed. “But, first thing tomorrow, we have to meet with the governor and settle a hunting party for Silver.”

“So I’ve read through the narration of this story.” Benjamina remarked, as Smollett turned to Arrow.

“Mr. Arrow, inform the crew that we shall be staying at the nearest hotel in Port Royal.” Smollett ordered.

“Yes, sir.” Arrow acknowledged. “And might I add that the finest hotel in Port Royal just happens to be the Ye Happiness Hotel.” Smollett pondered over the hotel name; in his mind, he pictured a luxurious palace that was fit for a king and (in Benjamina’s case) a queen.

“Very well.” Smollett said. “We shall look up this Ye Happiness Hotel and spend the night there.”

“Splendid, Captain!” Arrow exclaimed, and as he headed back to the Hispaniola to inform the crew, Jim approached Smollett with Gonzo and Rizzo; he had been highly interested in the wonders of Port Royal, ever since he saw the hanging skeleton near the dock.

“Captain Smollett, would it be alright if my friends and I venture through the Port?” Jim asked, nicely.

“Yeah, it’d be nice to meet some of the locals, while we’re hanging around.” Gonzo added, and one particular phrase in Gonzo’s statement didn’t suit well with Rizzo.

“Did ya have to say ‘hanging around’? Jeez!” Rizzo exclaimed.

“I don’t see any harm in exploring.” Smollett approved. “But still be cautious; you never know if some locals might be rowdier than they look.”

“I doubt if we would find any riffraff in these parts, Captain.” Jim contradicted. “It doesn’t seem like the type of place to find trouble.”

“Or for trouble to find us.” Gonzo said, and just after Smollett and Benjamina strolled away hand in hand, Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo heard the sounds of a promotion ceremony taking place nearby.

“Sounds like a party.” Gonzo said.

“Let’s go see.” Jim suggested, and they went to a certain spot in Port Royal, where the promotion ceremony of Commodore James Norrington, a brave and faithful officer in the British Royal Navy. Commodore Norrington consequently wanted to marry the Governor’s daughter, Elizabeth Swann (who was standing among the crowd of onlookers that were witnessing Norrington’s promotion, while suffering under the pressure of a tightly worn corset), both because a wife was the only thing his enviable life was missing, and because he truly loved Elizabeth, having known her since childhood.

Elizabeth, who was a somewhat naïve but lovable young woman, knew the one and only true person that he could love; so often did she reveal it to her dear friend Robin (a small, adorable young frog that was far more lovable than Elizabeth herself, who always watched over him carefully since he was so tiny). Robin knew that Elizabeth was in love with Will Turner (a common, yet handsome and charming blacksmith), whom Norrington didn’t want her to be with, creating something of a rivalry between the two men. As Robin stood next to Elizabeth during Norrington’s promotion ceremony, he couldn’t help but notice how she was sweating and panting heavily.

“Elizabeth, are you alright?” Robin asked, and Elizabeth smiled at her friend, not wanting to worry him about her shortness of breath.

“Oh, yes.” She replied. “I…I always seem this anxious during ceremonies like this.”

“Well, I don’t see what’s to be so anxious about.” Robin stated. “I mean, it’s only Norrington that’s getting promoted.”

“Yes, but it’s very exciting, isn’t it?” Elizabeth asked, confusing Robin a bit.

“I…I guess so.” He remarked.

Meanwhile, nearby the fort that the ceremony was taking place in, Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo were watching as Norrington walked to get his promotion, unsheathing a new sword that was made for him by (ironically) Will Turner. The concentration that Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo had on the ceremony was soon interrupted by Jack Sparrow, who approached them from behind.

“Excuse me, mates.” He uttered, and as he spoke, his foul breath was flowing through the nostrils of Jim and Rizzo (both disgusted over the smell); however, Gonzo didn’t have any nostrils, so he wasn’t too bothered by Jack’s smell. “Do you three know where I could find a place where I can get myself a nice glass of rum?” Jim and Rizzo were holding their noses, unable to reply to Sparrow’s question; Gonzo, on the other hand, didn’t have any trouble replying.

“Sorry, but we just got here a few minutes ago, remember?” Gonzo said, and Jack looked closely at the three characters, his short-term memory slowly coming back to him.

“Ah, yes! The little animal creatures on that big ship.” Jack said. “I must say that ship is impressive…” Jack’s attention wad distracted for a moment, as he glanced at a nearby dock that was different from the one he and the Hispaniola crew had settled in, “But not as impressive as that ship is!” Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo turned their attention to the harbor, where there were two ships that were docked: the Dauntless (a big ship anchored out some) and the Interceptor (a smaller ship tied to the dock).

“They’re great,” Gonzo said, “But they’re not as great as the Hispaniola.” Jack grinned at Gonzo.

“I wouldn’t be too sure about that, mate. No offense.” He remarked, just before he started making his way towards that particular harbor, leaving Gonzo a bit offended.

“Can you believe that guy?!” Gonzo exclaimed, as Rizzo and Jim released the hold they had on their nostrils, inhaling the fresh air that was once polluted by Jack Sparrow’s foul odor.

“I can believe the smell.” Rizzo commented.

“He had the nerve to say that the Hispaniola was not a great ship!” Gonzo said.

“It’s not that big of a deal, Gonzo. It’s just a ship.” Jim said. “Why don’t we just let it go and do some more exploring?”

“Not until he apologizes.” Gonzo refused, and he followed Sparrow to the harbor to the displeasure of Rizzo and Jim, who sighed and rolled their eyes with disgust. Knowing that they couldn’t leave him behind with such a foul stranger, Jim and Rizzo followed Gonzo and Sparrow to the harbor, where Jack was immediately stopped by two men (named Murtogg and Mullroy) that were guarding the Interceptor.

Chapter One (Part Two):

“This dock is off limits to civilians!” Murtogg told Jack, who turned to Jim, Rizzo, and Gonzo, who were all right behind him.

“Ya hear that? It’s off limits, mates.” Jack said. “Go home and keep away.” Jack tried to continue on his way but was thwarted again.

“That means you, too!” Mullroy told him.

“Apparently, there’s some sort of high-toned and fancy to do up at the fort, eh?” Jack stated, referring to the promotion ceremony. “How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?”

“Someone has to make sure this dock stays off limits to civilians.” Murtogg replied.

“It’s a fine goal to be sure, but it seems to me that a ship like that…” Jack pointed to the Dauntless, “…makes this one here a bit superfluous, really.”

“Super what?” Rizzo asked.

“Superfluous, mate.” Jack told Rizzo. “Something that your ship can relate to.”

“Now just a minute!” Gonzo exclaimed, and Jim silenced him by covering his mouth, desperately trying to follow Captain Smollett’s orders and not get themselves into any confrontations.

“The Dauntless is the power in these waters, true enough,” Murtogg said, “But there’s no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed.”

“I’ve heard of one, supposed to be very fast,” Jack remarked, “Nigh un-catchable…the Black Pearl.” Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo were stunned over the ship’s name; they had heard of many stories told by Billy Bones in the tavern that they used to work in (some of them were irritating and hard to believe), but the story of the Black Pearl was one that was taken very seriously.

“Well…there’s no real ship that can match the Interceptor.” Mullroy commented, and Murtogg gawked at his companion with confusion.

“The Black Pearl is a real ship.” He said, and while the two argued amongst each other over whether the Pearl was a real ship or not, Jack slipped past them and looked over the Interceptor. The honest and noble Jim didn’t hide the fact that Sparrow was on the ship, since he was never the one to trust a pirate again, especially after his altercation with Long John Silver.

“I hate to interrupt your dispute, gentlemen.” Jim said, and he pointed to the Interceptor. “But that man is on your ship.” Murtogg and Mullroy eventually noticed how Jack was on the ship, and they climbed on board it (along with Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo) and aimed their rifles at Jack.

“Hey! You! Get away from there.” Murtogg ordered.

“You don’t have permission to be aboard there, mate.” Mullroy stated, and Jack moved himself away from the ship’s wheel.

“I’m sorry, it’s just…it’s such a pretty boat.” Jack said.

“Ship.” Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo corrected him, in unison.

“Right.” Jack said.

“What’s your name?” Murtogg inquired.

“Smith.” Jack replied. “Or Smithy, if you like.”

“What’s your purpose in Port Royal, Mr. Smith?” Mullroy asked.

“Yeah,” Murtogg said, “And no lies!”

“Well, then, I confess,” Jack uttered, “It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and…”

“Oh, it’s obvious that he’s lying!” Jim exclaimed, but Gonzo seemed a bit convinced.

“I don’t know, Jim.” He said. “I think he’s telling the truth.” Rizzo, however, felt the exactly same way Jim did.

“Oh, come on!” Rizzo told Gonzo. “If he were telling the truth, he wouldn’t have told us all of that.”

“Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn’t believe the truth even if he told it to you.” Jack said, and his words were a bit mind-boggling for simple-minded characters like Jim, Rizzo, Murtogg, and Mullroy; of course, Gonzo…

“You see? He’s telling the truth!” Jim, Rizzo, Murtogg, and Mullroy just stared at Gonzo, wondering how he could have figured out what Jack said; even Jack was impressed that Gonzo figured out what he said, since he didn’t have a clue himself.

The confused silence was suddenly broken as soon as a loud splash was heard near the Interceptor. Jim, Gonzo, Rizzo, Jack, and the two guards looked over the rail of the ship to see what had fallen into the water, but the waves made it difficult to see; they figured it may’ve been large rock or something. That’s until they heard Robin’s voice echoing throughout the harbor from high above.

“Someone! Help! Please!” He cried, and the small group on the Interceptor looked up to see Robin, standing on the edge of the fort’s battlements and pointing at the water below, with Norrington standing near him. “My friend just fell in the water!”

“Who’s your friend?” Gonzo asked.

“What does it matter?!” Robin exclaimed.

“Well, we want to know his name in case he drowns.” Gonzo said, and Jim tapped his shoulder, as if to ask him what he was thinking saying a thing like that.

“For God’s sake! My fiancée’s drowning!!” Norrington shouted. “Someone save her!”

“Will you be saving her then?” Jack asked Mullroy, who just stared at him in panic.

“I can’t swim.” Mullroy uttered, and Jim rolled his eyes with disgust.

“Pride of the King’s Navy you are.” Jim said, as he climbed up onto the rail. “I guess I’ll be saving her.” The others watched as Jim dived in to save Elizabeth; soon enough, Jack had gained the courage himself to dive in after Jim, right after he handed the guards his effects.

While her still body was sinking down to the depths below, an Aztec coin that was turned into a medallion by Elizabeth was floating in front of her neck. There was a weird ripple effect in the water, and—above the surface—the winds began to change to the surprise of Gonzo, Rizzo, and the two guards, who all heard a muffled thumping noise.

“What was that?” Murtogg asked, just before the four of them climbed off the Interceptor and moved over to the dock, where the drenched Jim and Jack had brought Elizabeth’s retrieved, yet still lifeless body up from the water and laid it across the dock. “She’s not breathing!”

“Quick! Someone give her mouth to mouth!” Gonzo suggested.

“Ooh, it’d be my pleasure.” Rizzo offered, happily, and he was about to put his mouth up against hers, until Jack stopped him.

“Allow me, mate.” He said.

“You?!” Rizzo exclaimed, in surprise. “With your breath, you’ll kill her!”

“And yours wouldn’t?” Gonzo remarked, and Rizzo gave him a dirty look, while Jack simply cut Elizabeth’s corset open, causing Elizabeth to spit out water and gasp for breath. “Whoa! I never would’ve thought of that.”

“Clearly you’ve never been to Singapore.” Jack told Gonzo, and as he looked down at the revived Elizabeth, he noticed the medallion that was around her neck, seeing the Aztec coin that was attached to it. “Where did you get that?” Before Elizabeth could’ve answered, Robin had come down to the dock from the fort, along with Norrington, Governor Swann, and six other red-coated soldiers. As soon as Norrington approached Jack, he pointed his sword directly at his head.

“On your feet.” He ordered, and Jack immediately did as he said, while Governor Swann helped his drenched daughter up.

“Are you alright, Elizabeth?” Governor Swann asked.

“Yes, I’m fine.” She replied.

“Oh, I was so worried about you.” Robin told Elizabeth. “When I saw you fall, I thought part of my life went with you.” Elizabeth showed somewhat of a smile to Robin, fighting off the quivering sensation her body was feeling from the cold air and the fall she had.

“Bless your kind soul, Robin.” Elizabeth said. “I will never leave you.” Robin was pleased to hear that; but he wasn’t too comfortable with rowdy-looking characters like Jack, Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo who stood before them and neither was Governor Swann.

“Shoot them!” He ordered, and Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo were shocked over how much they were suddenly involved.

Chapter One (Part Three)

I've been so intrigued with Renee Louvier's fanfics that I almost forgot that I recently started this one. Here's the rest of the first chapter.

-----------------

“Father!” Elizabeth shouted, turning to Norrington. “Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuers?” Norrington thought about it, and he realized that Elizabeth had a point; he offered his hand to shake with Jack’s.

“I believe thanks are in order.” Norrington said, and Jack shook his hand, only to have the sleeve of his right arm pulled back to reveal a “P” for pirate branded on it. “Had a brush with the East India Trading company, did we, pirate?”

“Hang them.” Governor Swann demanded, and Jim quickly spoke on the behalf of Gonzo, Rizzo, and himself.

“Governor, wait!” He exclaimed. “We have nothing to do with this man! I swear!”

“Anyone who accompanies a pirate must be in league with him, my boy.” Governor Swann stated. “I’m just sorry that someone as young as you would be in the presence of the likes of someone as foul as him.” Sparrow frowned, taking an offense to the Governor’s comment.

“I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees that.” Rizzo whispered to Gonzo.

“Too bad he doesn’t see how innocent we are.” Gonzo remarked.

“Keep your guns on them, men. Gillette…fetch some irons.” Norrington ordered, just as he saw the tattoo of a sparrow in flight on Jack’s arm, right above the “P.” “Well, well…Jack Sparrow, isn’t it?”

Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please, sir.” Jack requested.

“Well, I don’t see your ship…Captain.” Norrington said.

“I’m in the market as it were.” Jack remarked.

“But you said you’d come to commandeer one.” Gonzo told Jack.

“Told ya he was telling the truth.” Rizzo uttered, while Mullroy handed Jack’s effects to Norrington, who sorted through them with interest.

“No additional shots or powder. A compass that doesn’t point north.” Norrington indicated, and he unsheathed Jack’s sword. “And I half expected it to be made of wood.”

“Wow.” Robin said, observing all of Jack’s effects along with Norrington, and he looked up at Jack. “You’re the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.”

“Indeed.” Norrington agreed.

“But you have heard of me, son.” Jack told Robin, as he was pulled along to be put in chains, right before Gonzo, Rizzo, and Jim were.

“Commodore, I really must protest.” Elizabeth said. “Pirate or not…these people saved my life.”

“One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness.” Norrington stated, and when Gillette (Norrington right-hand man) moved away from Jack, the pirate threw his irons around Elizabeth’s neck and took her hostage.

“Elizabeth!” Robin cried, as the soldiers aimed their rifles at Jack, only to be stopped by Governor Swann.

“No, don’t shoot!” He ordered, while Rizzo had his head down in grief.

“Oh, man! We’re really in for it now.” He murmured.

“I knew you’d warm up to me.” Jack said. “Commodore Norrington, my effects, please, and my hat.” Norrington had one of his men hand Jack’s effects over to Elizabeth, whom Jack had to help put back on him. “Easy on the goods, darling.”

“You’re despicable.” Elizabeth uttered.

“Sticks and stones, love. I save your life, you saved mine, we’re square.” Jack stated, just before he aimed his pistol at her head. “Gentlemen, M’Lady, you will always remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow.” He pushed Elizabeth away and escaped, swinging around and landing on a beam above everyone’s heads.

“Now, will you shoot him?” Governor Swann inquired.

“Open fire!” Norrington ordered, and before his men had the chance to fire, Jim had stomped on the foot of a soldier and turned to Gonzo & Rizzo.

“Run!!” Jim cried, and the three of them ran off of the dock, with Norrington shouting for some of his men to go after them, while the rest fired at Jack Sparrow, who had escaped from their sights.

“Gillette, Mr. Sparrow and his companions have a dawn appointment with the gallows.” Norrington said. “I would hate for them to miss it.”

Chapter Two (Part One)

Captain Smollett and Benjamina Gunn were strolling down the street and admiring the many classy people and places in Port Royal; they had just signed themselves and every other Hispaniola crew members to the Ye Happiness Hotel, which was far different from what he imagined it to be. The Ye Happiness Hotel was a lewd resort with an interior that was twice as ravaged as the exterior was; the manager there (a character named Pops) and a small-time band that called themselves the Mayhem were situated in the hotel, and they didn’t seem to mind the crude accommodations.

While finding a perfect area to dine for the evening, the group of soldiers that Norrington had set up to find Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo passed by them, alarming Smollett a little. He watched the soldiers as they rounded a corner, wondering if his three cabin boys had gotten themselves into something that they couldn’t get out of. Benjamina didn’t think much of the soldiers or what they were involved with, since she was so focused on a nearby restaurant that, in her mind, looked romantic enough for herself and Smollett to dine in.

“There! There!” She exclaimed. “I bet they have the most glamorous cakes, lobsters, caviar, wine, and…”

“Uh, not now, Benjamina.” Smollett said, and Benjamina looked over at him in a “Are you talking to me?” sort of way.

“I beg your pardon?” Benjamina said, with an irate tone in her voice.

“I think something has happened in this town.” Smollett assumed. “Did you see those soldiers pass by just now? Those were actual guardsmen for the governor. Something serious is going on, Benjamina.”

“Yes, but…why must we get involved with it?” Benjamina asked. “We have so much to do in such a wonderful area in the Caribbean.”

“But I can’t help to think that Jim and his friends might be in trouble.” Smollett said. “What if there’s some criminal on the loose? What if they might’ve gotten involved themselves? What if…?” Benjamina couldn’t stand the captaining attitude that her boyfriend always went into, whenever there was trouble near; she didn’t hesitate to let him know that.

“What if the sky falls? What if tomorrow doesn’t come?!” Benjamina shouted, angrily and intentionally mocking Smollett. “What if Frank Oz stops sticking his hand in places that it shouldn’t belong?”

“Say what?” Smollett asked, a little surprise over that last question.

“Okay, maybe I broke the fourth wall with that last one,” Benjamina said, “But the point is that if you can’t for once stop acting like the high and mighty captain that you are, then I don’t see why we should be an item anymore!” And with that, Benjamina walked away from Smollett, leaving him with a difficult decision to go with his love or find out what was the problem that the governor’s soldiers were dealing with.

“I sure wish this was a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ story, because I don’t know what to do.” murmured Smollett, just as he heard some commotion that was happening near a smithy, where Norrington and his men had caught Jim, Gonzo, Rizzo, and an unconscious Jack Sparrow and led them all out onto the street. “Just as I feared.”

“Take these three to their cells, immediately.” Norrington ordered, and as Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo were being taken away along with Jack, they noticed Captain Smollett nearby and cried out for him.

“Captain! You must help us!” Jim shouted.

“Yeah, they’re gonna hang us all!” Gonzo yelled.

“And we didn’t even do anything!” Rizzo added, and before they could’ve told him anything else, they were sent away, leaving Smollett to deal with Norrington, who also took notice of the captain’s appearance as soon as the three cabin boys did.

“Commodore, might I have a moment of your time to ask…WHAT THE HECK’S GOING ON?!?!” Smollett bellowed.

“Captain…Smollett, is it?” Norrington asked. “I’ve heard much about you and your escapades, including your recent with the infamous Long John Silver. I must say that I’ve been a bit…inspired from you experiences.”

“Well, I’m a bit honored that you have, Commodore,” Smollett remarked, “But I must know why you are taking my three cabin boys away in chains?”

“They have assisted a pirate in taking Governor Swann’s daughter hostage, right before they escaped from our clutches.” Norrington informed. “By dawn tomorrow, they will all be hung for their misdeeds.” Smollett was mortified by the last bit of information that Norrington revealed to him.

“There must be some mistake, Commodore.” Smollett assured. “My cabin boys would never assist a pirate, especially not after their altercation with Long John Silver!”

“I apologize for this, Captain, but I’m afraid that you will have to put this matter up with the governor,” Norrington said, “He’s the one that is establishing the hanging.”

“Then let me speak with your governor on this matter.” Smollett demanded. “I came here to speak with him on an entirely different matter, but if I must change my mandate for the lives of my cabin boys, then so be it.”

“Very well.” Norrington acknowledged, and he led Smollett away, while Will Turner stood in the doorway to the smithy and watched the commodore leading the captain away; he thought carefully about what he had done to Jim, Gonzo, and Rizzo, fearing that he may be responsible for the deaths of three innocents.
