If anybody watches The Daily Show or Colbert Report on Comedy Central, there was a Muppet Show reference.
At the end of The Daily Show, they toss over to Colbert by having Jon ask Stephen what will be coming up on his show. Last night, Colbert promised a report on the feasibility of space travel for pigs, a look at Scandanavian cooking with their in-house chef, a hilarious rendition of the Banana Boat Song with Fozzie and Harry Belafonte, and finally, an off-key trumpet note from Gonzo. He promised it would be so entertaining that even Statler and Waldorf would have reason to smile. After Jon commented on Stephen's dubious guests, Stephen's half of the split screen switched to Sam warning that the participants of tonight's show would indeed be weird and unusual.
Unfortunately, Colbert's actual episode was only a hilarious ode to pride week. Entertaining, but no Muppets.
