Here's something from Muppet Wiki about a Halloween special that Jim had planed for The Muppets in the early 70's. This was also planed to be a pilot for what would become The Muppet Show.

That would have been a great TV special. Too bad it never got produced.

This is the first I've heard of this. I wonder how many other holidays were considered for Muppet Show pilots.

I saw some pics of it at the Funtastic World exhibit.

Think about it.

The Muppets have ALWAYS been foiled in doing a Halloween Special. Other than 2 Sesame Street DTV productions, there hasn't been anything Halloweeny that wasn't an episode of an actual series.

So far, it was that long lost 60's special, the Muppet Haunted House Movie, and the Muppet Monster special that keeps getting put off due to the production of the movie.
