I was wondering if anyone out there has had their Muppet collection appraised for insurance purposes or just because. I have a rather large collection that I feel is quite valuable because of some rare pieces. I talked to my insurance company about getting it insured and they told me that I would have to have it appraised. I have discovered that having a "toy" collection appraised is easier said than done. The only toy appraiser in my area is about 1 1/2 hours away from me and wants to charge me $125 per hour for any work with a minimum of five hours. Does this seem a little outrageous to any of you? I have no clue what the "going rate" is so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
