Has anyone, besides me, ever thought that it would be really cool if they released a broadway musical based on the muppets? I'm not sure if they would make a whole show based on the muppet show or if they'd base it on a muppet movie, maybe the muppets take manhatten. They would all be dressed up in costume, similar to the ones in the muppet show on tour, and it would tour the world, like Disneys the lion king.
Let me know what you all think.

Jim Henson was planning one, but never got it lifted off the ground.

They do have "Sesame Street Live" presentations at the Kirby Center in Wilkes Barre.

Er, actually, the Broadway performance I was reffering to that Jim Henson wanted to do utilized the actual puppets and performers, much like The Muppet Show Live and Avenue Q. It would have been an amazing thing to see.

Word has it even as of late as 2002, various heads in JHC's dream project was just this; a musical broadway(or off broadway) thing featuring the actual Muppets with performers, done live on stage(like Muppetfest)...not folks in goofy costumes and ice skates^^
