Muley The Mule On TV, 6/25/03

[Fozzie Bear]

On July 25th, 2003, Muley (my puppet character) will be seen live on Fox 13's Good Morning Memphis, Breakfast on Beale. Directly afterwards he'll be visiting the Wake-Up Crew at Rock 103, across the street from the filming of the morning news show.

He will be singing a song on the show, but also helping to promote the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis' 9th Annual Big Scoop Ice Cream Festival.

Buck, yes, we're planning to video tape the shows. I have the one from last year and we reviewed it recently so I could see if there was anything I wanted to do differently or better. The only things were on their parts: 1) they sped me through my spot, 2) their sound-people stunk...the music was barely audible, 3) I said to shoot the puppet from the waist up, and they got ME IN THE ENTIRE SHOT!!

It was neat, nonetheless.

UPDATE:
MULEYSUIT NEWS! The full-body Muley costume will be seen Tuesday morning 7/22 on CBS affiliate News Channel 3 www.wreg.com because I couldn't make it with the puppet, my best pal Lin Workman will perform the costume that day. The same costume will be appearing at the RMH Big Scoop on the 26th. YAY!!

Yeah, doing puppet appearances on local TV shows is usually difficult. The crews have an assembly line mentality usually and hate it if they have to set up a lot of extra monitors, cables, etc. and the puppeteer(s) end up frustrated if they don't have what they need to give a good performance.

I would love to help you but talk about long long ways away. I wanted to do something for my sister's wedding but no its not about the puppet the wedding. I've wanted to be on the air w/ some of my puppets but I'll have to keep trying until it happens.

Fozzie, have any advice for a guy down on his luck on getting into the public eye?
