We can ignore the comments below the video on that page - some of them are VERY stupid. But that happens when it's not a fan base like this, gathering around the common interest (and even many times despite that - it's just that we have a great community here)!

Ah... actually, I had that... a hand me down that that I gave back as soon as I got Nintendo... but really. Those comments aren't far off.

Atari's Pac-Man is regarded as one of the company's biggest mistakes, add to that E.T. cartridge (the game NO ONE LOVES) and you wind up with why there was a massive chip crash and all the events that lead to Atari's downfall. If Nintendo didn't come on the scene and wow the country, video games may NEVER have been as big as they were and still are.

And frankly, I can see why no one really dug the home version of Pac-Man. It took all the challenge out of the game, and it just looked so incredibly ugly. SO so ugly.

Kind of reminds me of another Atari commercial from the 80s where Alan Alda was a little girl's grandpa demonstrating the "Atari Writer" software that turned an Atari computer into a Word Processor.

Man, I remember when I was a little kid, my parents had a Word Processor, and I thought it was so cool, because not knowing any better, I thought THAT was a "home computer", lol.
