What was this sketch:
Grover was walking up stairs that almost never ended, and then when he came to the top there was a wall and then he got all exasperated and i think he fell off the stairs... does anyone remember this and do you know where I could download it for free off the web thanks!

Hi and welcome to the boards here at MC.

The sketch you're talking about is Monsterpiece Theater: The 39 Steps, a parody of an Alfred Hitchcock suspense movie I think.
Grover's climbing the stairs and counting the steps saying how he's going to find a surprise at the top of the stairs. He pauses after every ten steps with his mood changing from gleeful vigor at the beginning to frustrated tiredness near the top. At the top, all he finds is a brick wall and he gets upset. And then he realizes the good thing about being at the top of a flight of 39 steps... He gets to slide all the way down!
Also, while climbing the stairs, you might see a portrait of Dr. Teeth from TMS or so I've been told.

Hope this helps and have a good time at the forums.

This segment was included in the television special The Sesame Street Special, which was released on video and DVD under the title Put Down The Duckie.
