MONSTERPIECE THEATER
"Brokeback Mounties"

Fade into Alistair Cookie's library.

COOKIE MONSTER: Ah good eve-a-ning, and welcome again to Monsterpiece Theater. If you forgot, me your host Alistair Cookie. Tonight, me happy to bring you that very emotional, very controversial, and very sad tale: Brokeback Mounties. And now, sit back and enjoy Brokeback Mounties...

Fade in on the Canadian wilderness where two Royal Canadian Mounted Policemen (the lavendar and green anything muppets) observe a giant boulder in the middle of the road).

MOUNTY 1: Boy, that sure was one heck of a rock-slide, eh?

MOUNTY 2: Yeah, I can't remember the last time Canada had a rock-slide, when was it, eh?

MOUNTY 1: It was a-boot a decade or so ago, eh.

MOUNTY 2: Well, how are we going to move this huge boulder off the highway eh?

MOUNTY 1: I don't know, let's think a-boot it, eh?

So the two mounties begin to think.

MOUNTY 2: I've got it, eh!

MOUNTY 1: What is it, eh?

MOUNTY 2: Cooperation, eh!

MOUNTY 1: Cooperation, eh?

MOUNTY 2: Yeah, if we cooperate, maybe we can get this boulder off the highway together eh?

MOUNTY 1: You may be on to something there, eh.

So the mounties walk over to the boulder and position themselves to pick it up.

MOUNTY 2: Are you ready, eh?

MOUNTY 1: A-boot as ready as I'll ever be, eh!

MOUNTY 2: On the count of three, we heave okay eh?

MOUNTY 1: Okay, eh!

MOUNTY 2: 1, eh! 2, eh! 3, HEAVE, EH!

The mounties then try to pick up the boulder but we suddenly hear loud cracking sounds.

MOUNTY 1: OW, I JUST BROKE MY BACK, EH!

MOUNTY 2: MINE TOO, EH!

MOUNTY 1: We better call an ambulance, eh!

MOUNTY 2: I can't move because of my back, eh!

MOUNTY 1: Me neither, eh!

MOUNTIES: (Scream) HELP, WE'RE IN PAIN, EH!

Fade back into Alistair Cookie's library where two nurses (the orange and fat blue anything muppets) escort the mounties out on stretchers.

ALISTAIR COOKIE: And so end Brokeback Mounties... what you think a-boot it, eh? Hahaha! This Alistair Cookie saying buh-bye from Monsterpiece Theater.

HAHAHA!
I just discovered this humourous fan fic. Excellent Snowthy.:excited:

And I can think of a good moral to the story of the Brokeback Mounties:

COOPERATION MAY BE A WONDERFUL THING, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO RECOGNIZE THE STRENGTH OF NUMBERS REQUIRED.

I was a little surprised to see anything named Brokeback appearing at MC, but when I read it, it was great. Clever, and whitty.

I had this idea stuck in the back of my head for quite sometime (yes, even the cooperation bit), only it didn't actually involve Sesame Street nor the Muppets, BUT I decided to work it out as a Monsterpiece Theater bit to see how it would turn out with Muppets, and I guess it came out alright.

This was absolutely hilarious. I'd love to see this as an actual sketch.

Just so everyone is aware, not all Canadians speak like that ALL the time.

It's true there are some stereotypical ones out there, but for the most part, Canadians and Americans speak the same.

Great story though Snowthy!

I figured Snowth knew it. His writing is very tongue-in-cheek of our language, and to us Canadians we recognize it. But to Americans or any of the other cultures our members represent, I thought I would clarify.
