I know this may be kind of an awkward thing to talk about, but have you guys always wandered about the monitors muppeteers used? and what about the headband like headsets, what are they used for. I'm studying for this kind of thing just to let you know.

there have been post about monitors here already you may want to use the search button, I know they talked about two different type a regular one just like tv and a reverse scan monitor. as far as Headset Audio-technica makes a great one here I know me and several other puppeteers use this and like it.

When I was puppeteering for ETPtv, they just gave me A monitor to work with: it was small, portable, and had different things that I could adjust (color, tint, brightness, contrast, etc), but unfortunately, there were no headsets for me to work with, I had to use those crappy little clip-on microphones newscasters wear.

The equipment they used on the Muppet Show and the old Muppet projects is probably not what you would want to use today because technology has changed so much. Lav mics in particular have gotten much, much better.

I used to always use old Commodore 64/Amiga monitors for puppetry because they were cheap and nearly indestructible, but now everything is going to 16:9 (widescreen) and high definition so that is something to keep in mind.
