Miss Piggy's two recurring sketches

I've recently noticed some similarities and contrasts to Miss Piggy's two recurring sketches, Veterinarian's Hospital and Pigs in Space.

For one, both sketches feature three regular characters. And in both, the three usually appear in the same spots in every sketch, but in contrast, in VT Piggy appears on the right of the screen, and in PiS she appears on the left. Of course, in Pigs in Space, the three charcters often appear in other positions in addition to the regular spots, somethign not as common in Vets Hospital. Also, Vets Hospital regularly has a fourth guest character, while Pigs in Space doesn't have extra characters as often.

And in both sketches, the character in the middle of the screen is a live-hand character performed by Jim Henson. In both the middle character is basically the star or main characte,r while Miss Piggy is pretty much the second most important characte rin the sketches (though the order of importance is reversed in general, outside of the sketches). And the thrid character is the leas timportant, both in the sketches and on the show. Though janice is a bit more major and important than Dr. Strangepork, in part because she was more prominiently a member of The Electric Mayhem, while Strangepork didn't have any additional recurring jobs or roles.

And finally, all three characters in Veterinarian's Hospital were all around before the sketch premiered (though I'm not sure if the skecth idea was in development before or after it was decided that Miss Piggy would be a major character), while the other two Pigs in Space pigs were created especially for the sketches.
