Mispronouncing Rowlf

Why have several people over the years pronounced Rowlf's name as Ralph? Just wondering.

Hmm. The badie in one of my books is called Ralph (specifically different to the dog) maybe he's been spreading the false name around for self-interest sake.

Also, just a thought. What to Kermit the Frog, Rowlf the Dog, and Alexander the Great have in common?
