This outline is for the fourth season.
Cold Opening/ Dressing Room
Fess Parker tries to sell some real estate to some forrest animals.
Introduction
Kermit announces that Fess parker has come out of retirement to appear on The Muppet Show, and introduces him in the opening number.
Opening Number: The Ballad of Davy Crockett
Lubbock Lou and his Jughuggers sing while Fess Parker dresses up as Davy Crockett, shooting his rifle at various objects.
Balcony
Waldorf: Well, what did you think of that number?
Statler: I hated it. ( a bullet from off-screen shoots at them)
Backstage
Fozzie tells Fess Parker that he is scared of him because he killed a bear when he was only three, but Fess reassures him that it was just his Davy Crockett character. Then Fozzie get's shot in the back by one of Bobby Benson's babies, who wears a coonskin hat.
Muppet Labs
Bunsen invents a crayon that can instantlly change colors. Beaker uses the crayons and presses a small button which changes the color from purple to green to red to pink, but then the crayon explodes in Beakers hand.
Muppet News
The Newsman reports that many cities are being torn down to make room for a new rain forrest, and says that the next thing to be torn down is the Muppet Newsroom, and a steamroller comes in and runs over the Newsman and his desk.
Song: Uptown Girls
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem sing.
Backstage
Fozzie's back is sore from his shot in the back, and he doesn't think that he can perform his monologue.
Veterinarians Hospital
Fozzie is the patient again, and this time he lays on his stomache (have any Vets Hospital patients laid on their stomaches?). Dr. Bob puts a bicycle pump in Fozzie's back, and inflates him.
UK Spot: Old Yeller
Rowlf sings and plays the piano and is backed by Baskerville (on banjo), Rover Joe, Foo Foo, Lyle, Muppy, and the Afghan Hound.
Bear On Patrol
Since Fozzie's back is sore, he arrests the baby who shot him in the back, but his back is too sore to be very tough, and the baby kicks, bites, and karate chops Patrol Bear.
Backstage
Fozzie is in a lot of pain, and is in so much pain that he asks Kermit to cancle his act. Fess Parker decides to perform Fozzie's monologue, and puts on a pink polka-dotted scarf like the one Fozzie wears, and wears a hat like the one Fozzie wears.
Introduction
Kermit announces that Fozzie cancled his performance, and is replaced by Fess Parker.
Monologue
Fess Parker reads the script for Fozzie's jokes, but can't read the handwriting very well. Statler and Waldorf say that they can't tell the bear from the guest anymore.
The Swedish Chef
The Swedish Chef makes a hamburger. he takes a bite and spits some fingernails out.
Balcony
Waldorf: That hamburger had nails in it.
Statler: I wodner if that hamburger was really a hand burger.
Backstage
Fozzie tells Kermit that his back is feeling much better, especially since he didn't get heckled by Statler and Waldorf this time. Fess accidently hurts Fozzie after gently patting him on the back.
Closing Number: Daniel Boone Theme
The Jugband once again performs as Fess Parker portrays Deniel Boone, shooting a rival at things untill Crazy Harry shows up and blows him up.
Balcony
Statler: Well, I guess this song proves that Daniel Boone was a man.
Waldorf: You mean you didn't know?
Statler: Of course not. I always thought Daniel Boone was a cow.
(they laugh)
Goodnight
Kermit and Fess Parker are joined by Fozzie, Link Hogthrob, Lubbock Lou, Zeke, and Rizzo.
