Mention of a Muppet Film in Development

Lisa Henson's current bio over at the Good Boy film site is very interesting. I'm not certain if anyone has caught this but it cites her for "overseeing production of Five Children and It...in addition, she is working on a feature film development of the next Muppet Movie..."

The new Muppet Show has been in development for years, but it doesn't mean it will ever air so this could mean nothing. This recent mention is at intriguing at the very least. It sounds like a feature film because Lisa doesn't appear to do much television from what I've seen, so this might not be about the reported TV specials.

Keep in mind you can turn off the dog paw trails on their website. The navigation leaves a little to be desired too.

I noticed that a while back. It's not new - It's copied from the Henson.com bio's and has been there ever since they relaunched that site but it is still kinda intriguing.

Hmm. You're right. It's not a direct copy and paste so it appears to be more fleshed out and punched than on Henson.com. You never know how old that info is on their websites, but execs try to keep such things current. Either way it's good news.

Thinks, is this the next Muppet Movie, or The Next Muppet Movie. I don't know if any of you remeber when a review of the script for The Next Muppet Movie was online a few years ago...

Yeah.. it probably won't get the full finish, and even then, not for quite a while.

It stinks that they're putting more money into unwatchable, preschool oriented Talking Dog films and not letting the New Muppet Show, The Next Muppet Movie, or a new Made for TV movie/special get any further than a developement.

The revised bio was issued this year so I would say there is merit to it, but development can mean a number of things - from an idea buzzing in someone's head or assembling performers for the project. There would be more info is it was near production, but it gives me hope.

I just hope that one day, instead of drawing up plans for plans for developements of various projects, they'll focus energy on one project. Just one! They seem to be deverloping more than they're actually finishing things nowadays!

Please don't let another Muppet movie fall into the Animated Farscape/ Bring Mopatops shop and Hoobs to the US/ Muppet Fox TV show pit!
