i asked this at YL but did Luis always have his fix It Shop when he came on the scene? i ask this because he along with sonia Manzano, Maria came on the same year. 1971 and there was the SSU episode where Maria was telling Big Bird about jobs she had in the past and 1 of them was a librarian and the fix it shop was a library branch. Noggin only shown 2 episodes from the 1971-1972 season. the 1 witch opened up with kids not seen on camera narrating and mentioning all of the people on the show. 1 scene was when Ernie & Bert are at Hooper's store and either Mr. Hooper or his 1st helper Tom handed Ernie a straw and he didn't know what it was. and the episode where it rained. and more than half of the SS cast weren't there. anyone here have memories of the 1971-1972 season and might be able to answer this one?

You know, it's possible that the small library changed into the fixit shop during the 1971-72 season (Season 3). I have evidence, because in the Rainstorm episode, show 355, there was a street scene where Rafael was trying to fix David's radio.

well i figured in was then. i wonder if Luis might of been doing something else or if he just came on durring mid-season. i figure the library didn't last long especially since Maria did come on durring the 3rd season. assuming the library probably wasn't on the previous seasons, i wonder why they eliminated it? also what they David do prior to becoming Mr. Hooper's assistant? after all it was Larry Block aka Tom came on the same year and David took over after he left.

Now that u meation it I remember Grover talking to Marie about jobs and she telling him about her Librean job. Now I want to know about this stuff ya'll are talking about? Here's a possibility:

Maybe the writers decided that since you are supposed to be quiet in a library, there wouldn't be enough scenes to do there. The fix-it shop provided more possibilities for character interaction.

That's my 2 cents.

They eventually did have another Library and the outside wasn't visable so I'm not sure where it was but Linda worked there and I think Lillian did from 1990-1993. I'm not sure when the last year they showed it. I think it was 1995 or so.

I was thinking of that one when reading this thread. I remember them always say lets go to the library. I remember a song where worms sing about worms and it took placed in that certain library at night or when it was closed. I have that song as well its on Sesame Road cd. I wished they would bring back some old episodes to some stations on TV. I would love to see the fix-it-shop when it used to be the library. I miss the old stuff of SS. Its just not the same anymore. I'm glad that there using old clips from the 90's and 80's. I want some 70's old clips. I hope this year they do use some. I'm cossing my fingers.
