Luis and Maria

It's generally known that David and Maria were an item on the show until Luis and Maria fell in love during the late 80's. Yet, sometimes there seemed to be subtle hints that the writers may have been toying with that idea all along. Maria worked for Luis and eventually became his partner in the Fix-It-Shop. Maria goes with Luis to New Mexico while David stays home. While they were leaving, David playfully yells to Luis something like, "You take good care of her now! I love that girl!" There is also an old picture from the 70's that shows a group shot of the cast. For some reason, in this 70's pic, Luis and Maria were by one another's side while David was sitting on the ground. Good thing David wasn't the jealous type.
