The newest Sesame Street DVD was scheduled for release today, exclusively at Wal-Mart, but I went to both of my local Wal-Mart's and didn't see any copies (so either it had sold out before I got there, or the DVD arrived late, or the stock peopel were too slow takijng their time getting it on shelves). So, has anybody found any copies of Love the Earth! How good is it, and does it have any old segments, or is it completely new?

Does it have any classic characters no longer on the show, like Bruno? Does it have anything from the video Sing-Along Earth Songs?

I also didn't find any copies of the other new video, Dinosaurs! though I did find it at Best Buy (though I didn't pick that up... I think I'll wait until I hear about how good that is before I buy it... Though I had initially planned on waiting to buy Love the Earth! but a few days agoa fter realising that this one is to be released soon, thought "what the ehck").

Oh yeah, it's an exclusive for both Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Do you have a Sam's Club near you (of course, I hear that you need a special card just to get in)?

I don't know if exclusive videos are ever available at libraires (though I know that, long ago, my library had a Barney video thatw as exclusively available at libraries). But then again, Wal-Mart has had exclusive releases that were later released at other retailers. Examples include the first Fraggle Rock DVD, which was late rreleased elsewhere as a special edition DVD, and a handful of Sesame Street episodes, which were later packaged into the Sesame Street TV Episode Fun Packs. Maybe this one will be released at other palces some day.

My library has a special sytem that allows members to order items from other libraries in our county. If the DVD isn't at mine, it's proboly at another. Most of the lirbraries get the new Sesame Street DVD's, so here's hopin'.

I did a Google search for reviews and there are classic clips, but I haven't found a list of them. I'll keep trying though.

Muppet Wiki just posted a list of segments for the DVD and it looks like it's got some good ones., like "Once is Not Enough", Polly Darton's "Save Your Energy for Me" and Big Bird's "what a Gift". And it was "We Are all Earthlings", but it's the Jill Scot remake.

The seelction of segments are good, though not too many that I would have begged for. It seems like it didn't have any segments from the early years, but I expected most of the skits to have been from 1990 (it seems like they were focusing on saving the planet back then) and later.

It doesn't seem like the DVD has anything with Oscar. And it's a shame that Monsterpiece Theater: Conservations with my Father isn't included. And it has two segments that are also on Sing-Along Earth Songs (the same two from that video that have been included on other videos).

There's a new version of "Picture a World" that's really nice on the DVD. It's sung by Papa Bear, Elmo, Baby Bear and Zoe. It's been added to our playlist on Muppet Central Radio.

Even though On my Pond isn't included in this video, it was good to see Zoe have a promiment role in this.
