I would imagine they used wire inside the legs to help make him posable.

I have a picture with Jim performing Kermit and Frank performing Piggy, Kermit has some kind of thing that shows how his legs work. I'll try to find it and let you know how it works.

I've seen pictures of this and it's been discussed on the forum here before. Basically, there's a rod for moving the leg and a simple cable control that allows it to bend I believe.

I think it's a mech similar to the "boxing nun" puppet. Another way to do it would be to attach fishing line to the puppet's toe and then run it through the leg and into the body. Then add a fishing weight to the puppet's heel (just enough to pull it back down when you release the string.) When you pull the line the leg stretches out, and when you release the tension, the leg falls back down normally.

Ok, I was sitting thinking about this and came up with this type of control. I have not made it nor have I tested it. The push rod would have to be ticker than I show on the drawing. But maybe this will also help to spak some ideas. One could add cables to this as well. Most of thes parts can be found at a hobby shop that sells RC airplanes.

William, you rock. You have one of the best engineering minds I've ever seen.
