Kermit & Miss Piggy

I,m not sure how many people have noticed this other than myself.But over the course of the first four seasons of The Muppet Show,Miss Piggy could be unfairly nasty to Kermit.Of course he,s not the only one she had karate chopped from time to time,but she did do it to him an awful lot.She often threatened him too.Especially when Annie Sue was involved.[I,ll never forget what she did during Leo Sayer, episode,where Annie Sue was first introduced.She was upstairs just outside her dressing room,when she caught Kermit giving Annie Sue a kiss down below.In an act of rage,Miss Piggy climbed onto the banister and jumped off,flying through the air yelling"HYYYAAAH",and landing on Kermit.]On at least two occasions,Kermit had made the mistake of losing his cool and yelling at Miss Piggy.No doubt,he got a "HYYAH" in return.However,by the fifth season,there was an episode guest starring Loretta Swit,where Miss Piggy got some kind of gossip column to photograph her and Kermit for the front page of a public magazine.Once Kermit had discovered what the photography was all about,he was furious.Screaming his head off at Miss Piggy.He then told her she was fired.Loretta Swit got in on the scene and managed to patch things up between Kermit and Miss Piggy,with a closing musical number"Side By Side".Maybe it,s just me,but I find that ever since that episode,Miss Piggy seems somewhat more respectful to Kermit.It seems she eased off on the harsh way she treated him in the past.Though Kermit did recieve a "HYYAH" in The Muppets Take Manhatten and Muppet Treasure Island,their relationship seems to have matured over the years.

you bring up a good point. i really would like to see there relationship grow more. the last 3 moivies wherent really about them being together. MTM that was what it was all about them being in love and love keeping them together. I think the reason for all the hitting was jealsoy piggy was jealsoe of her frog. i mean look at MTM she took all that time and effort to spy on him. so i think it was all jealosy i think.

Interesting topic! I never thought about it that way.

I'd say TMTM karate chop was more helpful than anything, and MTI she was mad cause he left her. I don't think MTI was a real chop, though.

Miss Piggy's "Hyyah's" were the reason she terrified me as a kid. I was always scared she was gonna break Kermit one day.

I think the one thing that scared me,was when I first saw the barn scene in The Muppet Movie where Miss Piggy was karate chopping all the bad guys,and she got that crazy look in her eyes.Whatever they did to her eyes in that scene,freaked me out somehow.

Piggy ahh Sweet gentle Piggy!!! ha she struggles so much to be a lady but her struggle takes its toll from time to time and she has to take matters in her own hands to save the day and make herself look more beautyfull. the only one she really cares about is herself and the fact she wants the frog is just to look good. Kermit i think loves piggy like a tooth ach. he need to find his true soul mate and i know who it is. Jenny from TMTM she and kermit where perfect for each other they wher a cute cople and i thought the frist time i saw the movie that they where going to get together. i really thought Jenny did wonderfly with all the muppets and should have done more with them. i would love to see her in some upcoming show or movie she was my favorit reall person on any of the moivus.
