1. Is it just a Muppet song or have others sung it?

1. It is from the 70's muscial "Snoopy" based on the Charlie Brown comics strips from Charles Shultz it was sung on TMS, The Tonight Show (when Kermit Hosted It), and The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson.
