Was Jim really a songwriter and musician? I think singer is more apt, which isn't even listed under his occupations.

Jim had a few songwriting credits to his name. He co-wrote The Muppet Show theme with Sam Pottle, and he also wrote The King of Eight and the Baker counting segments from the first season of Sesame Street.

He put out a novelty record in the early 60s called Tick Tock Sick.

IIRC, it was mentioned in Brian Jay Jones's book that Jim toyed with the idea of putting out more novelty records in the 60s.
