How did Jim Henson, or Brian for that matter, become successful businessmen? Seriously, they both started with puppets, then went onto producing/directing TV shows and movies, while in the process running a successful multimedia business.

The reason I'm curious is because I'm about to apply to one college to get a degree in video or digital media production. I want to be a filmmaker (and puppeteer/puppet builder), but I also want to have a business and own my product and the Digital Media Production program has a course called "Media Business and Law."

Somewhere along the line Jim Henson learned how to manage a business, and I'm just wondering if there was some particular program at the University of Maryland, his college, on which he learned this skill.
