OK, this isn't exactly new news, but I just found out about it and thought I would share. I just stumbled across a reference to this in an article on MSNBC's site - apparently the Jim Henson Company built the Pets.com sock puppet. Five identical versions of the puppet were actually made and are performed by actor and "Ed" star Michael Ian Black according to the article I read.
The JHC seems to be doing more and more of this these days. They were also involved in a production of "Carnival" and the current Broadway version of "Little Shop of Horrors." Didn't they also do the non-Muppet puppets that are currently on TLC too?
Anyways, you can read the full article for yourself here.
