Were they flaps, or was it one of those slide out type things?

Yes they are flaps, I was explaining to Warrick earlier in an email. The original was produced by Jim in the 60's the company then re-released it with opening doors in the 90's. You can see it (not very well) in the Muppet Crafts book.

It is a nice piece of Muppet History and one which people who visit Kermitage with a little knowledge of Henson History will hopefully enjoy. To those that don't recognise the Sam and Friends characters its just a cute card.

Anyhoo, Happy Holidays to all!

Michael.
