Often when I see or hear about a Sesame Street sketch from the 1980s where Jim Henson performs a character who co-stars with a character who was performed by somebody who joined Sesame Street in the 1980s (or even late-1970s), I often wonder how those performers felt, being able to work with the one and only Jim Henson, who was often too busy to perform full-time on Sesame Street throughout the 1980s. I also feel like these moments are rather special. For soem reason I feel like pairings between Henson and some 1980s performers on Sesame Street are more special than his pairings with these performers on other productions (Fraggle Rock, The Jim Henson Hour, etc.).
I am not talking about moments where Jim Henson plays a character alongside many characters who have different performers (like in Do De Rubber Duck or the china song from Big Bird in China), but moments that are basically just moments between one of his characters and a character performed by a newer performer.
Let's list some examples of Henson and newer performer moments from Sesame Street:
Jim Henson and Kevin Clash pairings:
Kermit and Elmo: they demonstrated happy and sad together, Elmo once tried to help Kermit deliver a package, and Kermit once interviewed Elmo in a Sesame Street News sketch.
Ernie and Elmo: They sang "One Fine Face" together.
Guy Smiley and Elmo: Elmo appeared on Guys game show "Beat the Time".
Ernie and Hoots: they appeared togetehr for Put Down the Duckie (and they interracted togetehr in Best Friends Blues, before Snuffy showed up).
Kermit and Dr. Nobel Price: Kermit interviewed Price in some news flashes (though I'm not actually sure if any interraction was done after Clash took over the role)
(man, it seems like Elmo was a popular character for Jim Henson to team-up with)
Jim Henson and Martin Robinson pairings:
Ernie and Mr. Snuffleupagus: they sang "Best Friends Blues" together.
(and speaking of Clash and Robinson, Jim Henson performed in two Miami Mice skits, once with Ernie, another time with Kermit, and the main characters from this skit were performed by Robinson and Clash)
Jim Henson and Brian Muehl:
Kermit and Telly: Telly once attempted to sell Kermit a head warmer.
Kermit and Dr. Nobel Price: as said earlier, Kermit interviewed Dr. Price a few times.
Are there any such moments that I have left out that should be included? Have any of Jim Henson's characters ever interracted with any of Michael Earl Davis' characters?
