Does anyone remember the animated version of Jack In The Beanstalk from 1975? It was a Japanese movie, but an English version was released in America. It was also a musical with magical songs such as "No One's Happier Than I". Although the movie is based on the classic fairy tale, there are numerous new twists incorporated into it, such as a Princess and an evil Queen, making it a delightful combination of old and new. Most people who have seen it remember it as being one of the most delightful animated musicals they've seen and say that it even rivals Disney. Yet, for some reason, it never gained widespread popularity in America. Some of the scenes might be frightening for young children and the story is somewhat bittersweet, which may have stopped it from being up there with the renown films, but I believe it all made a wonderful package. I was lucky enough to see it again recently. If anyone has memories of this movies to share, I'd love to discuss them with you.
