I've amassed a huge internet phone bill

My mother is very worried when she heard that I am going to have at least a $400 bill this month with broadband. I only get so much free credit and each additional megabyte is 15 cents each. This is the most I've clocked up yet.

I can get the money to pay it off the family and pay them back. I can borrow it off my Nan if I have to though I've asked my Dad to drop in some of my inheritance money from my Aunt on his side. Either way I can use it to pay direct or to pay Nan back. I'm not really upset though I agree I'll have to do something.

I had it cheap with dial-up night mega deal though I was up all night often trying to talk to my friends. I have changed my deal to another one that gives me more credit beginning with this month and I'll see how I go.

Mum can't help but worry naturally but I'd break down without contact with all of you on the forum. And I trust God that things will work out in the end.

My suggestion to you is get off dile up. They did the same thing to me dile is to expsive and outdated. I got DSL and it's unlimited for 35 dollars a month. You and your mother might want to check into that. You might have to replace your computers modem but that only coats about 50 dollars. Not the best thing but it will be better than spending 400.00 every month.

She/He is on broadband (it seems). At 15 cents a mb i'm not sure how you could amass 400 bucks, is that with your voice calls as well or do you download lots of movies? If not, you might wanna check your computer for Spyware/Adware to make sure its not doing anything else in the background. You definitely need to look around for a better deal.

My usual reaction to people who say this kinda thing is that if your family is worried for you, and you're having to use your life savings and borrow to pay for luxury things then it's probably a sign you need to make sure it isn't addiction and think about spending a little less time on the internet - however i also realise that a lot of people have different circumstances and this place is a lifeline to them so i guess then it's more important.

Well you have to make sure above all that you have your finances in order, especially when it comes to paying back other people.

Yeah. This is a real lifeline to me true.
But don't worry. I will get things sorted out with it all. Mum and I are going to go and talk to them at their local shop in our city and see if we can work something out.

Actually in the light of what Luke has said I think I sadly ate up all my free monthly broadband credit this month downloading Sylinde Bren's Muppet Musique files to my computer.
But never mind. I've got more free credit starting this month before I have to start paying for extra. Also since I've practically gotten all Sylind's music files now may hopefully make a difference.

Yea well all of her files would have definitely had a lot to do with that. I would try look around with other providers as you will probably find a better deal.

Oh wow, that sure is a big one. I'm really sorry to hear about this bill of yours, Marty! It's really tough because I know how great it was for you to be out of that dial-up deal you were on. But I really hope that you can find a better deal now. Hopefully you and your mom can find out something important and helpful when you go to talk to them. I really hope it all works out for you! After all, we don't want you goin' broke!

Thanks Caroline. I hope the new deal I've changed to with extra free credit will be helpful. I probably will have to seriously restrict my downloads for one thing. Mum and I will sort it out.
