Is Lionel a teenager

Is Lionel of the Between the Lions a teenager? I ask that because on how he behaves, how he treats Leona, he's got an older voice and he likes to read Cliff Hanger alone

He's supposed to be seven, but it sure doesn't seem it. xD Before I found out, I always thought of Lionel somewhere near being teen aged.
