It seems like only yesterday when he was the main character of the Street', now Elmo is the newest craze!! UGH! :grouchy:

I guess when Jim Henson passed away, the character really lost it's lustre. Sure the new person (whatever his name is) does an okay job at his voice, but still it's never been the same.

Kermit was in the "Elmo Saves Christmas" special, making a cameo as a reporter on TV. When Slimey flew to the moon, he was one of the reporters covering the event, along with Robert McNeil. Beyond that, I haven't seen him recently on the show.

Disney

I'm curious as to what Disney has to do with it. I haven't been following that news lately. What do you mean? Thanks.

He's been off for a little while anyway. The last time I remember seeing Kermit himself on SS was during the "Hurricane" episodes in March 2001. This was around the time EM.TV was selling the SS Muppets to Sesame Workshop. I don't know the exact circumstances around Kermit not being on SS, but I wouldn't blame it all on Disney.

And in 2001, he also introduced Keb Mo on the song "Everybody Be Yo'self".
