Hopefully tomorrow some relatives will be able to come and transfer my computer equipment over to my mother's house and when I can set it up over there I will regetfully begin limiting my time online to Saturdays and Sundays while I try to see about organizing a cheaper internet deal for me.
I'll miss being online to chat as often but it'll be better than nothing.

Well i hate all that for ya bill, these internet, phone and cable comanys are always looking to stick it to the man! There should be some way around all that, and a cheaper way out. I dont know though sounds like they got you preety well tied up, and i hate that for ya buddy.

Sorry to hear that Bill, but i will say it does you REALLY good to have a break away from the net and forums for a while occasionally - i took over a year break not too long ago and just came on once in a while. I know it's a great community and it might feel like some kinda family but i felt great, there's no substitution for the real world - reminds me of that Simpsons episode where TV is banned and all the kids discover the outdoors again.

Thing is though, i have no idea how you are using over 600mb per month in bandwidth by casual surfing - either you are downloading stuff or there may be spyware on your computer or some other kinda virus downloading or stealing your bandwidth in the background so if its the case you aren't downloading a lot of files yourself you might want to check that.

I strongly suspect Luke that my watching clips on YouTube may eat into it a bit.

Anyway I'll have my CD and DVD player with me when I'm at my mother's so I'll use my discs for music instead and see if that makes any difference as well. If not I'll have to seriously consider having it checked out.

Ah, sorry to hear that Martin, my friend! But you're right, at least weekends will be better than nothing, so I'm grateful for that I myself have had some internet troubles recently, but, on average, they don't last more than a few days, fortunately.
I can see how YouTube can bite into bandwidth as well.

Update: unfortunately the relatives couldn't drive all the way from where they live to our city. My uncle was supposed to have a doctor's appointment here, but the rain we've been having has flooded them out.
But things will work out eventually I'm sure of it.

I just want to say again that I'm so sorry to hear about this, Marty. It really is a tough situation!

And it is very true. We will really miss seeing you around here as often, but limiting your usage is definitely the smart thing to do. And like you said, at least you'll get to check in with all us crazies during the weekends!

I hope everything works out well with your relatives coming to pick your equipment up. And I certainly hope everything will work out wonderfully with the remainder of your current Internet deal and your hopeful eventual great new deal. I'm sorry to hear about all of the rain by you, too... I hope all is well and everyone is safe!
