Howdy Boss!

I looked over the Forum Rules just a bit ago, but I didn't see anything about Indentical Posts.

Whether it's intentional (same posts or new threads in different sections) or unintentional (a lot of members say it just happened accidentally - technical problem), it's a little urksome to see 3 to 5 threads with the same title by the same member, or 3 identical posts in a row in any given thread.

Just wanted to put this out there and see if you or any of the mods could do anything about it.

Thanks!

When I see that I try to

1) Delete duplicate threads if the duplicates have no replies
2) Merge duplicate threads if they all have some replies in them
3) If it's in EVERY thread, then I consider it SPAM and delete them all and PM the poster to say, "Dude, dat ain't kewl!"

Well, i don't say it like that--but, you get the idea.

From the rules...

SPAM:

Please do not use the forum to post irrelevant, repetitive or offensive information. Debates are encouraged but there is no need to filibuster to get your point across. The excessive use of blank space in posts is disrespectful to other forum members and should be avoided. It may lead to the editing of posts and/or a warning from the moderators. Before posting a new thread, please make sure a similar thread is not already active. Multiple threads on the same topic can be confusing. Please do not post the same message in multiple parts of our forum. Duplicate posts will often be deleted.

Aaah! Now I see. When I looked I just perused over the titles mainly. Thanks for that. You and Kevin both!

P.S. Oh yeah, do we know why the glitchy stuff happens? I mean, I know that stuff just happens, but it seems to happen more than once to a lot of the same members. Could it be there own computers or internet connections?

Thanks again!

My theory is it is a lack of patience on the members part. I think maybe they have a slow connection and are hitting the reply or submit button more than once. Just a theory.

That' auctally happend to me a few times. I would try to send a message and the page seems like it stops loading, and I hit the refresh button and sometimes it resends my message.

Accidental duplication

I just committed a major muppet crime, albeit accidentally, I duplicated someone else's thread. MY TMX thread in the SS section is the same as a thread in the Sesame Merchandise section about 10th anniversary Elmo. I didn't know that there was anohter thread when I started my own, so I'm sorry. Now what's the penalty for this inadverdent crime, other than the fact that no one has added to my first post in this thread?

You shall be put in shackles with your eyelids taped open, and made to watch every Elmo sketch ever made until you hate him.

Kidding, of course.
