First of all, someone that I'd known since junior high (aka secondary school) had been saying some things for the past few years that aren't fit for this forum. So I decided to part friendship with friendship with her. She kept calling & harrassing me though:rolleyes:. And she was doing it today too! Once I even thought it was her on the phone & before saying hello, I said,"DON'T YOU KNOW WELL ENOUGH TO LEAVE ME ALONE?" Turns out it wasn't my ex friend. It was someone that had dialed a wrong number!Ohhh I was SO embarrassed! I apologized & explained that I thought that it was a person that bugs me. The woman laughed & accepted my apology.
So a bit later my ex friend calls back. I was just about to hang up on her when she told me her dad died.:frown: This time I think she was telling the truth. She was there for me when my dad died.So now I feel like the world's biggest jerk.
Someone wanna smack me?

No, you're not the world's biggest jerk at all. The fact that you feel like one actually makes you not a jerk, because you feel bad for her. Just be there for her now, and maybe one day talk to her a little more about why you parted. That's my one cent.

No, I will not smack you! But you have been understandably angry with her. Maybe after she's had some time to grieve you can talk with her about how you feel about the way she treats you. If things still don't get better, then maybe you should walk away. Hugs for you, hopefully things will work out.

I guess that is the best thing to do, and it it is only fair. Be careful though, that you don't forget about your grievences entirely, and let him/her slide.
And please don't kick yourself; we love you too much for that! *smile*

Sometimes Kathy it takes sad things like this to patch up friendships. Give her the support she needs and maybe she will realize in her sorrow and your comfort that she did you wrong before and mellow out. I will say a prayer for you both.

Martin,
My dad died in late July of last year. And this person that I had posted about had no idea whatsoever that my dad died. She had been a major pain where I sit & she was the last person I wanted to hear from since I was so upset. So when I told her about my dad, she was stunned!
I'm going to try my best to be there for her.
Thanks for praying for us.

You're very welcome Kathy. What you've told me has touched my heart. I wish you both the very best.
