Okay, first of all I have to say something, and I want everyone to know that I am NOT making this up, or trying to be funny, but I am dead-dog serious in this post!

My nana is crazy. Seriously, she is crazy! She's literally losing her mind, and my mom isn't sure whether it's Alzheimer's disease, or if it could be simply Dimentia, though we all think it's the latter: she has made our lives miserable these past two months, she's pretty much been treating us like scum (me not so much because apparently I'm the "favorite grandchild), she refused to loan us any money until she finally gave in recently, but she was acting all like we were twisting her arm behind her back to give it to us. Not only that, but she's called everyone she knows, including our family lawyer and our church's preacher to tell them what a family of low-life, crooks she's making us out to be. Of course, she always denies doing so, but we know she does is because she keeps a diary that my mom managed to secretly look through to see what all she's said about us to other. It's gotten so bad that my mom is too embarassed to even face our preacher or anybody because she's thinking "how am I going to convince someone other after they've been told all this by a 'sweet little old lady'?"

Not only that, but my mom said that HER nana was the same way when she was growing up, and that they finally had to take her to the funny farm because it had gotten so bad she needed twenty-four-hour care.

Now here's my BIGGEST question that I MUST know because I might need to be prepared... if my mom's nana had it, and if my nana has it... is there any chance of my mom getting? Could this be hereditary? Is it genetic? Does anyone know?

Relax Snowth I'm sure your mother won't end up with "it". :sympathy: Although I must inform you Alzheimer's can run in the family genes. But don't worry, I'm sure your mother will be fine.:halo:

And how old was your nana (and the one before) when all of this would start happening?:concern:

I don't know how old her nana was when all this happened, but my nana is 78 right now, and I'm going to say she's gotten worse within the last two years or so.

May I ask why are you all expecting her to loan you money?

If she that unhealthy your family shouldn't do that.

Maybe you all need to remain where you are if possible.

being 78 and I don't know if you wish to go into all the personal info and I don't wanna ask anything you may not feel comfortable discussing but at her age, problem, and on what she has she may not be able or doesn't wish to forsake any of her savings.

We were stuck in a hotel room for two fricken months, and were rejected from two different places on two different occasions... we FINALLY had a chance at a place, but we were short and need a few extra bucks; no one else had it but my nana. We were running out of money simply because we had to pay for our stay in the hotel room every morning, plus we were forced to eat out, which left us with fast food restaurants as our only options for meals.

Uh Snowths... It's not that we doubt the veracity of your claims, but perhaps this would be better reserved for a private conversation. MC rully isn't the place for these discussions, as threads like this have blown up in the past. Would prefer you contact the people you trust regarding this matter via PM or individual Email messaging to avoid any unpleasant negativity that others might hurl your way. Sorry, hope you can understand our position here at MC.

OK, given fair warning, I'm closing the thread to avoid unpleasant negativity as mentioned above. Thanks for understanding guys.
