Now I'll admit, as Christmas vacation was coming to a close, and the second semester of this year was on it's way, I was down-right upset. This has been my hardest year of school! (In the 11th grade, with Chemistry and Geometry is rough let me tell you) I wasn't looking forward to it AT ALL, but then one day early last week, right before school started, I remembered something that made me perk up: this semester, one of my courses is TA-DA...PUPPETRY!!! That made me feel a whole lot better. My mom's going to order "Puppetry: A World History" as a "text book" for me to read, and I'm sure with my gig at the local PBS will count towards my grade. I was wondering if you guys had any other ideas for me to do with my course of puppetry this semester!

Coming up with your own puppet head patterns involves using geometry and molded foam latex puppets involves chemistry.

The more you know how to do well, the better off you'll be in the puppet profession.

There needs to be more puppetry workshops available. Most that I have seen are directed toward children.

I wish we had a puppetry club around here I could take part in as extra-curricular activities, because I hate this political club I'm in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Jim a part of a puppetry club during high school?

Didn't he pick up puppetry to get a job at a DC radio station? They didn't want him when he first applied, but he did see an opening for a puppeteer. So he did some research, built some puppets and came back and offered himself as a puppeteer...or so the legend goes...

I don't know if he had any exposure to puppets as a kid.

You are soo Freaking lucky, I took agriculture:smirk: you need to do history of puppets too!

Jim Henson Was in a puppetry club in high school when the family move to Maryland, i think.

P.S.: 12 grade will be a breeze!
