Inspired by a fellow MC member (Teenager's), I've decided to start a Puppetry Club at my school. If all goes according to plan, the club should be up and running by the end of January. For the inaugural meeting I figured that I would put together a simple Power Point presentation explaining what we're going to be doing then show a short documentary to add a visual sense to the club's plans. Problem is I can't really find a documentary that fits those criteria. So would anyone be willing to recommend a documentary, preferably under an hour, that is definitely about puppetry as an art form and has a lot of footage of puppeteers at work?

Perhaps "The Muppets on Puppets".
I actually didn't even think of that one, Oscarfan! I'll definitely make a mental note of "The Muppets on Puppets" as a possibility but I want to see if anyone else has suggestions.

Back in Janaury 2000, the BBC broadcast a wonderful documentary about film and TV puppetry, called 'The Wonderful World Of Puppets', Admittedly the focus was on British TV, although it does include Muppets and Creature Shop work. It has quite a lot of clips of puppeteers at work (including clips from Of Muppets And Men), plus a lot of footage of puppeteers talking to camera about their work.

Check out the P of A's AV library. They have lots of goodies there. Although I don't wonder if most all of it is on Youtube by now...
