Well, we have 80s and 90s, might as well have the 30's too! And I mean 1830, people, not the boring 1930 with the shift to radical and conservative lifestyles.

Good old 1830s! Croquet invaded Ireland.

Ah, yes! The 1830's! Who could forget those? Hooray for Belgium's independence!

And who could forget the reign of Queen Victoria? *sniffs* It's sooo romantic how she wore black everyday since her husband died!

Ah, let us reminisce about things we couldn't possibly remember ourselves. Those were the days... **stares off dreamily into space**

Actually, my family was probably still in Ireland at this point; I don't think they were kicked out into Scotland yet. So it's quite possible that they were fierce croquet players themselves!

My family was probably still in Italy at this point. We're still trying to find information from Ellis Island, which is a lot of fun!

Btw, does this mean someone should start the 1930s' thread?

Where was my family at this time..... well, during the 1930's Queen Victoria had a cousin who was a criminal (I don't remember for what). After being found out, he fled to Scotland where he married great-great-times-I-don't-know Grandmother.
